چکیده

The goal of the European Nitrate Directive 91/676/CEE is to mitigate or prevent water pollution associated with nitrogen (N) cascade. Vegetable crops have a high risk nitrate leaching during autumn and winter. Information about fate N from artichoke (Cynara cardunculus L. var. scolymus (L.)) residues reviewed then supplemented three-year study 15N-labelled in an artichoke-cauliflower (Brassica oleracea cv. botrytis) rotation six lysimeters. After three years, 6% was leached, 8% exported by crops, while 86% remained lysimeter. Summed over rotation, 16% artichoke-residue absorbed 14% cauliflower. Total aboveground uptake all entire ranged 370 534 kg ha?1, which 207–311 ha?1 returned soil as residues. Increasing N-recycling efficiency reducing conserving crop productivity requires capturing mineralized organic N. Cauliflower performs this capture effectively drainage period. A break should be introduced after first second harvests further synchronize mineralization reduce rotation.

Effects of saline irrigated water on forage quality of globe artichoke (Cynara cardunculus var. scolymus L.)

Salinity is a major abiotic stress for crop production in many parts of the world. To evaluate the effects of irrigation with saline water on growth parameters and forage quality of globe artichoke (Cynara cardunculus var. scolymus), a field experiment was conducted using a randomized complete block design with three replications at Isfahan Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Educat...

A study of the effect of dietary fiber fractions obtained from artichoke (Cynara cardunculus L. var. scolymus) on the growth of intestinal bacteria associated with health.

The effect of different fractions enriched in soluble fiber obtained from artichoke using citric acid or citric acid/hemicellulase on the selective growth of Lactobacillus plantarum 8114 and Bifidobacterium bifidum ATCC 11863 was evaluated. Gompertz modeling of Lactobacillus plantarum 8114 growth showed a higher specific growth rate (μ: 0.16 h(-1)) in the presence of fractions isolated from ste...

Phenolic Compounds from Artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) By- products and their Antimicrobial Activities

Cynara scolymus L. is a medicinal plant frequently used in traditional medicine for liver diseases. The aim of this study is to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of the different parts of Artichoke. Maximum antimicrobial activity was observed with methanolic extract of bound phenols for (bract and heart) against Gram negative bacteria. The MIC values for bound phenols from heart were (63μg/ml...
